I really like the PowerAdd Solar Battery Charger. It uses solar to charge a battery pack which you can also charge with a wall outlet. It holds enough to charge an iPhone 3 times but for those time when you are away from power the solar feature is really handy.

I have a Suntactics solar charger and it has really worked great for my iphone 5. It charges my phone directly without any batteries and very quickly. Suntactics claims that the on-board type solar battery chargers really do not have the ummf. If the internal battery goes dead then you have to wait for it to solar charge. My charger starts charging right away with the sun of course. I think that their chargers can also charge many types of USB batteries if you need the power for later use though.

Hey, there are a lot of good solar chargers out on the market right now. The one that I recommend and use is the Anker Foldable Solar charger. I have owned this bad boy for awhile and it had charged up all my devices. I found it on portablesolargadgets.com
