I am wondering how some of you handle a name change where someone gets married, and wants a new email address reflecting this.
I know I can add an alias, but I was thinking more along the lines of a new account, forwarding the email from the old account for a time.
The big area I am not sure of is migrating the folders over. I know I can set up both accounts on one machine, have the user manually migrate their folders over. If I set one of the accounts to forward, how does this effect the folder listing in the mail client? Will the folders disappear? Is there a way to migrate all the folders over from the server side?

If all you want is a new email address, then add an alias to the existing entry, update the mail client to use that alias as the new return address, and move on. That'll keep the old entry around as well, which can be handy for mail that straggles in.
