wifi keeps switching off

Hi

My WIFI connection to my I-Phone 4S keeps dropping when I'm at home & I don't understand why??

My partner has access to the same WIFI with the same handset (although different network) & the laptop picks up WIFI too

But for some reason, my I-Phone keeps dropping the signal & I'm using so much data it's a joke....

Any ideas will be appreciated

Cheers

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1.3

Hey Bretf75,

Thanks for the question. I understand the Wi-Fi connection on your iPhone 4S drops unexpectedly. That definitely sounds frustrating. The following article provides some troubleshooting steps that may help to resolve your issue:

iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

Wi-Fi disconnects, or signal strength is less than expected

- Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).

- Check for sources of potential interference.

- Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.

- Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.

Thanks,

Matt M.

Hi

Many thanks for your tips

I've a wireless doorbell which I've moved & I've also moved WIFI out of the way of the telephone..... Neither have made any difference

I've also reset the network settings.... Still no joy

My previous handset worked just fine, as does my partners so I think its another trip to the Apple Store for me......

Thanks for your help anyway
