Well, it depends on what you mean by "deleting my iCloud account". What is it you are trying to do or accomplish?

The short answer is that you cannot change the iCloud mail account associated with your AppleID . You can create additional aliases (with some limitations), but you can also use different AppleIDs for different things (one for iCloud and email, another for itunes and app stores for example).
