Did you try the keyboard on a different computer? Did you try a different keyboard on the iMac?
windows keyboard alt key is option key. windows key is command key.
We need to know the exact model of the comptuer.
post specs but not serial number.

Aug 30, 2013 6:13 AM in response to parkketlerby Allan Jones,I'm thinking you have dead USB ports on the iMac if the board and mouse work on the other Mac. Do you have any other USB devices like a Flash drive to test the iMac's USB ports.
Is the period key (.) on the other computer not working?
