Q: iMac g3 snow won't detect the keyboard that came with it, iMac g3 snow won't detect the keyboard that came with it

Ok here's the problem so I have a bad hrs drive in my iMac g3 and I replace I and while I had the computer open I did a check make sure everything was ok and I also reset the power management while at it go to install the operating system and I plug in keyboard and mouse and it won't detect my keyboard and I can't boot off of the cd to install the operating system help me the keyboard came with the Mac why won't it detect the darn keyboard

 

 

 

 

 

 

Please help I'm only thirteen and I'm learning how to fix this stuff

    Well, does the mouse work?  Did you try a different usb port?

     

    Did you try the keyboard  on a different computer?  Did you try a different keyboard on the iMac?

     

    windows keyboard alt key is option key.  windows key is command key.

     

    We need to know the exact model of the comptuer.

     

    post specs but not serial number.

    Well the keyboard came with the iMac I tried switching USB plugs with the keyboard and Mose tried both the keyboard and mouse in my iBook g4 and they worked I can't get u the specs right now I have to got to school

    I'm thinking you have dead USB ports on the iMac if the board and mouse work on the other Mac. Do you have any other USB devices like a Flash drive to test the iMac's USB ports.

     

    Is the period key (.) on the other computer not working?

    I do have a flash drive and also I'm on my iPod typing this so I don't really use the period key
