Backups are consuming my internal disk

Hello everyone,

I am completely new to mac and i am really loving it. The only thing that i can't understand is why my internal disk (since i have time capsule) is being so used by backup files and how can i fix it.

I am attaching a image for you to understand what i am saying.

I never knew it had that storage breakdown. What it considers "backups" is probably Time Machine backups. Look around for a folder labeled "Backups.backupdb". I recommend using FindAnyFile (free download) to do this since it will search absolutely everywhere on the hard drive in case some glitch has caused this folder to appear somewhere.
