Adobe Reader corrupted. Won't update

I thought there was something wrong when I was downloading updates for the Adobe Reader 10 series when I already had Adobe 11 series. But the updates came right from Adobe, or at least they made themselves look like it. And the updates kep coming for the Adobe Reader 11.0.03 but will not download because they say there is a problem. So I am going to fix it once and for all by getting rid of Adobe Reader and reloading it from the Adobe page.

being the same place I was getting the bogus updates.

Can anyone tell me how to uninstall Adobe Reader altogether?

Okay. Use Terminal to forcibly remove it. Type the following command, with a space included, but DO NOT press enter yet.

sudo rm -rf

Drag the application into the terminal window to complete the path. Again, do not press enter before you drag the Application into Terminal.

It will look something like:

sudo rm -rf /Applications/Adobe\ Reader.App
