The warranty on the phone, and most anything actually, does not cover loss. As I said earlier, and Johnathan has supported is that a warranty only covers manufacturing defects, not accidental loss or damage by the owner. Your only choices are what I mentioned earlier. Apple will do nothing for your loss of the device. The responsibility for that is on you.

Well, I cannot fix it, that is for sure. You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user technical support forum.

Yes, to get a replacement phone, you would pay full price.

If you get the phone out of the elevator and it is still in one piece, you could get an out of warranty replacement. That cost depends on where you are, but deggie let you know what the iPhone 4 OOW replacement cost is in the US.

Please understand that loss and accidental damage are not covered under warranty.

Here are your options:

1. If they don't find the iPhone go to the Apple Store and buy a new iPhone.

2. If they find it and it is in many different pieces go to the Apple Store and buy a new iPhone.

3. If they find it, and it is broken but in one piece go the Apple Store and pay $149 for an out-of-warranty replacement.

4. If they find it and it just has a broken rear screen go to the Apple Store and replace the rear screen for $29.95.
