Setting Midi Channel to Channel Strip

I have read several posts about this subject but still have not found the solution for my issue.

I have a roland rd700sx that alows me to use diferent MIDI channels.

I need to control (send notes information) 2 channel strips: one with ch 1, another with ch 2.

On the keyboard the channels are set (they work ok with other apps).

On MS I have:

On layout screen - choose "Roland Rd 1 - 16" as input device

On the assignment and settings tab - unselected "send unsigned midi to all channels"

On the channels strips midi input tabs: "Multitibral" > "R rd 1 - 16" > Channel nr.

Even though the channel strips responde to every midi channel that is selected on the keyboard.

I have started to read MS and Logic manuals but I still got to no solution....

Thank you all for reading this and any possible help.

Diogo

PS: My MS version is 2 or 2.2.

Hi

I think you are doing this the wrong way round. Most Instruments in Logic (and many 3rd party ones) respond to All MIDI channels. This is what you are seeing.

Try this

In Layout Mode make 2 MIDI Activity Monitors or keyboard Controls. Assign them to in-coming MIDI for the specific channels you are using (Ch 1 and Ch 2). Label them to avoid confusion.

In Edit mode, add the 2 channel strips and select the required MIDI Input device and channel (NOT the multiTimbral one)

Done
