My real name appears like developer of my Apps! I need to change it.

Hello everybody,

I have a serious problem. I'm trying to resolve it, but I can't. Hope you all could help me.

My real name is appearing in my Apps in App Store. It's something like:

NAME OF THE APP

By "My real name"

I need to change that and put the name of my company, but I can't. Somethgin like that:

NAME OF THE APP

By "The name of my Company"

How can I do this change? Maybe it's an issue with the certificates? Maye about my contract as developer with Apple?...

Please let me know your views at this same stuff.

Best.

Is your Individual Developer Account as a person or as a company?

From iOS Dev Center / Support / Account Management

If I am enrolled as an individual, can I change to a company membership?

Yes. To convert your iOS Developer Program membership from an individual to a company, please contact us. You can make this change only if you are the founder/co-founder of the company. As part of the conversion process, you may be asked to submit business documents to verify your company's identity.

Hello K T,

First of all, thanks for your question and suggestion. I have an individual Developer Account as a person, I think (because I can't see anything of that in the notification that Apple sent me). I'm self-employed in the UK and I'm not registered as any organization. However it is so weird to appear with my real name as developer of my Apps in a public mode, and for that I want to change it to show my commercial name, like the brand with wich I sign my works.

I will contact Apple anyway. Any other suggestion or comment?

Thanks a lot!

Ok,

My legal situation it's so simple: I'm not a company, I'm self-employed (I'm currently registered with the Government Gateway as an individual), and I have a commercial name that is not my real name. I'm paying my taxes, bills and other tax obligations with my real name, but that's all about you need to do with your real. That's easy and legal for HMRC in the UK. Just I've wrote to Apple to arrange this situation.

Thanks again K T.

British law dictates that sole traders may use a trading name without registering a company, just as long as they don't hide their actual name - what that means is you need a footnote somewhere saying "Super Mega App Man is a trading name of Joe Bloggs". That's the legal situation, whatever arbritrary rules Apple has imposed, I don't know.
