Can't install driver for HP laserjet p1102w

I have a HP laserjet p1102w installed on my network wirelessly. It was working fine, but then I had to set up the network anew.

Now I can't get it to work on one of our macbooks. The other one works fine, they both run 10.7.5

I tried to remove the printer from the list and install the driver again from scratch. I downloaded the newest driver from HP, installed it, and upgraded the printer firmware (using the other laptop). When i click the + in the printer list, the printer shows up, and then i get the message to configure it, saying that the software is available from Apple. It seems to download, and then says the software is not available at this point, telling me to get the newest software from the printer manufacturer. Which is what I did in the first place.

I tried this several times, also tried repairing permissions, that didn't help.

Does anyone have any ideas? Would greatly appreciate help, have spent a few hours trying to figure this out to no avail.

Typically this happens when the list of compatible printers inside the Mac is outdated. It's strange that it would happen with one that's been working, but not unheard of. Try running Apple Software Updates and restarting the Mac. Typically this will allow the list to update, and the printer to install. Even if no updates are found, the list will still update. Let me know if this helps or not.

I am a printer tech for HP.
