Apple genius no help

Took my ipad mini into the apple store . It has never worked well for imessage since I got it . My daughter has one and has never had an issue . Mine will only send about 2 out of 10 times . It will then start again maybe in a couple of days sync with my iphone ok when it works .

they said no problems with hardware . Nothing wrong with soft ware in diagnostics . They told me something was blocking the messages between my ipad and the apple server . I give up my iphone works great from home but not the ipad . He said all my settings were correct . He told me the next time it would not send or sync to call the chat line no charge 24/7 he said . What they are going to do i do not know

It sounds to me like the technician did everything he could to try and help you. Erratic problems are often quite difficult to try and diagnose, particularly when they involve networking where there are many variables. What would you like us, your fellow users here, to do to try and assist further?

No thanks .I understand erratic things happen but so many and so often

I have tried everything that has been posted on the discussion forum . Nothing seems to help . i think I have a lemon of an ipad . . Even if the tech had said maybe the Apple server was the problem but he just brushed it off as oh well i am stuck with it . I have checked the server status page when I cannot send or receive and there are no issues posted

I thought it may be my wifi . But if my daughter is here and she sends an imessage from her ipad it goes through no problem . I send and it just hangs . everything is set the same .as hers . Same carrier also

My iphone works just fine for everything including imessage .

I guess i was hopeing someone here may have a miracle solution .

You're using the same Apple ID as you do on the iPhone, yes? If so, have you tried restoring the iPad to factory settings, setting up iMessage, and trying again?

Yes same id for the iphone . last month i had the mini in to the apple store because it froze on the apple logo . . I wanted them to check the imessage as well . In order to get the ipad to work they reset it somehow to factory . Then they said they could not check imessage because it was reset . If I had any more problems with imessage take it back to them . I could not send an imessage when I got home . It started all over again . I have been ill for the last month so this is the first chance I had to take it in

I think you'll have to do what the technician suggested, then; call Apple support the next time it happens. It's again very difficult to diagnose a problem that the technician can't reproduce, so they may need to be on the phone with you when the problem has occured.
