Can I assign a tone to a blocked number
One of my friends uses a blocked phone number. It appears that iPhone is forcing the call into silent mode which is definitely not what is wanted. Can I change this?

Maybe
If you have the contact saved just go into the contact through the address book and change the settings for that number
Cheers
Are you saying I have to explicitly set a tone? This number has the default ring tone which is not silent. How would the iPhone be able to tell which contact to use if it doesn't know the number (because it is blocked.)
i assume blocked through your carrier
welp......
i dont think so
If you blocked the number the calls shouldn't come through at all
I did not block her number. She has blocked the display of her number. When she calls her name doesn't show. Just BLOCKED.
Well there is nothing you can do about that.... if its blocked and the number does not show..... you cannnot save the "blocked" as a contact in address book. Either change your number or you'll be stuck with the ***** calling you 😟
I think you should read my question again.
Do you have DND turned on?
You are right. I got fixated on the BLOCKED theory that I did not noticed that I had turned it on until one of my unblocked friends called and it did not ring. I don't use the phone much and must have turned DND on some time ago and forgot to turn it off.
Thanks
