USB Mice won't work, but will on another Mac. How do I fix it?

I just bought a new USB Mouse for my MacBook Pro, and it suddenly won't work. It will work fine on my brother's Mac, but will not work on mine. I have tried two other mice and neither will work. Checking in System Preferences>Mouse it says that it cannot detect a mouse. Help!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), Logitech mouse

Is your mouse listed in the USB Device Tree?

To see it go to: Apple Menu / About This Mac / More Info ... / System Report.

In the left hand column, under Hardware, select USB.

If the Device Tree does not list the mouse, try plugging in a different USB device - does not matter what - and see if that is listed.
