gen 4 shuffle wont charge - shows up in itunes

My 4th Gen ipod shuffle shows no charge and is unresponsive when not plugged into computer. However it shows up in itunes whe plugged into the computer. Up until now I have had no problems with battery life or charging. Thoughts?
