Q: Was gifted a G4. Need to factory restore it.
Hi all. Brand new Mac user here. Was gifted a G4. Would like to wipe it and start fresh. Prior owner has tons of corrupted files on it. OS X is 10.3.9, 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4, memory says 768 mb DDR sdram. I do not have the install discs. Tried going online with it, safari crashes every time. Opera does as well. Explorer, forget it! Attempted downloading camino, after watching tons of YouTube vids, no dice. Says the .dmg file is corrupted ( I did put it in applications to run it). I've even done the power up holding options thing...nothing! Didn't see the options very one talks about when I'm in that 'safe' screen. Need help if possible. Thanks.

It can't be done without the original installation discs or a retail OS X installation disc. The least expensive option is to purchase a replacement set from Apple.
Call the phone number in the Apple Online Store. You will need the G4's serial number.
