Q: I can't restore my Ipod touch. Never used it.
I recently bought an Ipod touch 3rd generation 8gb from Groupon... This is my first apple product and I used my girlfriend's laptop to connect to Itunes (That's what it said on the Ipod when I tuned it on) So after connecting to Itunes it didn't give me the "Registration steps" it just said IPOD and that's it... I couldn't use it, sync or anything.. I looked online for a solution and found out that I should "restore it", I did the steps and finally got to the restore button on itunes and pressed it. It said it was trying to find an "Update Ipod softwere server". I left it searching for over a day and nothing happened!! It's impossible to use it.
Ps: I already reinstall the lastest version of Itunes on the laptop...
Sometimes the Ipod appear in windows.
Can anyone help please??

Update Server
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem
