Is there any difference between DDR3 memory and LPDDR3 memory? As i brought my macbook air 2013 recently and i saw the specifications it is indicating DDR3, buy apple website stated LPDDR3. Anyone can advise on this?

I had the same question. The response doesn't make sense though. if LPDDR is commonly used in mobile computers and when we purchased our mobile computer from Apple the specifications stated that it came with LPDDR3 - then why do our devices say we they are using DD3?

The simplest question is - is there a performance difference between the two types of DDRs?

Yes, thre is a difference. "LP" = low power. Using the proper memory type will extend the battery charge. Your next response will be something like, "Dang, that is cool. How much longer can I use my computer between charges?" I don' know, and it might be the time to use Google.
