Playlists not showing with iTunes 11.0.5.5 update

I recently updated my iTunes to v. 11.0.5.5 on my Win7 computer, and all my music and my playlists disappeared. I was able to restore my music by "adding files", but the playlists appear to be gone. I have all of them on my iPod, but I'm rather skittish about trying to sync it for fear I'll lose all of the playlists and any extras that might not have come over.


Suggestions for how I might restore this?

Thanks, Griff. I was able to get my song content back, but I still don't have my playlists. When I attached my iPod, it appears not to really sync. When I looked up devices, I found my iPhone and iPad as well as my computer, but not either of my iPods. (Both iPods are iPod Classics.)


Is there a way I can recover my playlists as well as re-associate my iPods?
