Q: Do I have the Early 2013 rMBA or the Late 2012 model?

I just bought the baseline rMBP 13" and it says it's the late 2012 model when I check "About this Mac". I absolutely love it so far, but shouldn't I have received the early 2013 model??


On this Apple Support Page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4132 it says the Early 2013 model number should be "MD212xx/A" and for the Late 2012 model it should just be "MD212". My box says "MD212LL/A" but when I click on "About this Mac" it says it's the late 2012 model so I'm a little confused. Also on Amazon it says the "MD212LL/A" is the newest model.

 

Any thoughts??

    Not necessarily. Even if it was brand new to you and just purchased doesn't mean it was manufactured in 2013. Some stores that sell Mac computer might still have old stock.

     

    Apple has a 14 day no questions asked retuern policy for full refund. Take it back and get the refund then go someplace else and buy one. Make sure it is updated version made in 2013.

     

    Let me ask did they have 2 different prices on what looked like the same model? And you bought the lower priced version?

    No it was just one price on the baseline Retina MBP 13"

    In all honesty I'm not sure the 13" Retina model got the early 2013 update like the 15" model did.

     

    Go back to the store and check the floor models and see if they say Early 2013 or Late 2012
