Q: Trouble connecting to App store and Itunes store

Hi,

I am working on a ship at the moment with wifi. The first two weeks it was working fine and I have no problems. Now however, it says cannot connect  to the app store, itunes store doesn't load and can't see whether I need to do a sofware update or not. Coincidentally what's app the app has also crashed.

I have no idea how to solve this but am desperate for any advice as being stuck at sea for 6 weeks is pretty hard and want to be able to access it.

Thanks

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced then select the Proxies tab.

Deselect any checked boxes on the left then click OK.

See if you can connect to the iTunes or Mac App Store.

If it's not a proxies issue, open System Preferences > Sharing

Make sure the Fireall is turned OFF.

Or System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall

If it's turned on, you may need to click the lock icon to turn it off.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your help.

None of the proxies were checked, and when i turned off the firewall it didn't make a difference
