Q: Having trouble with printer, how do I uninstall hardware to reinstall program again?

Ive had my mac for 2 yrs at least. always left it up to friend to do maintaince on it.  I need to do it myself now.  My epson printer always worked but in the last few weeks it wont print, will scan.  I was told updates my have messed it up.  Iknow who to delete programs on my hp computer but not mac.  I do prefer mac so need to find out how to do this.  can anyone help?
