Mac Os X Server

Hello

Im wondering to use my mac os x server as a Mac computer. What are the steps so I can install on my server the last Mac Ios so I can use it as a normal mac computer?

Please let me know because as I have all my backups on it I dont want to lose them. i just need to have latest mac ios installed to use it paralelly with my edition software as well and connecting it to a Tv
