Macbook Pro won't boot up after interrupted mountain lion update

I was completing a mountain lion update which I believe I interrupted. Now when I try to boot up my Macbook Pro all I get is a grey screen with the apple logo and a loading bar. Once the bar gets 1/3 full the computer then shuts down. Ihave tried holding down the shift and power up key and tried holding command, option p and R while powering up but no change. Any ideas please?

Boot OS X Recovery. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Reinstall Mac OS X.

Thank you for your suggestion. I have clicked the Reinstall OS X but the only option that comes up is Recovery Hd and it says you cannot install OS X Mountain Lion on to Recovery HD?

Hi,

I went through the same process and now I have the choice of Recovery Hd or Macintosh HD but it says they are both locked. Is there a way I could unlock them?
