Stereo Output is unbalanced...

Hi, I've noticed that the output on my MBP is unbalanced and the one side is a lot quieter than the other. This doesn't just apply to my headphone port but also with the USB port. I have used several USB interfaces & DJ controllers, it is definitely the mac which is the issue. Does anyone have any ideas why this is the case? As I use my laptop to DJ & produce music, it is really quite annoying that I cannot get a balanced output.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Have you confirmed that the balance setting is appropriately set in System Preferences > Sound > Output? The fact that this is happening USB-attached audio devices suggests a software setting causing this, not a hardware fault.

The output is set in middle as I've checked before, however it wasn't for "Soundflower" - I'm not entirely convinced that this is to do with the balance settings for USB though. I will have to check later and see if it's changed anything.
