How can I get FCPX to use my Zoom MS decoder plug-in?

PPS - AU units need to be validated before becoming available in FCPX. If you have Logic, you can start up the application (AU validation should occur automatically) or follow the instructions here:

I'd suggest asking Zoom tech support to inquire if it's supposed to work in X. Not every audio plugin does, definitely not if the plugin happens to be 32-bit. More details here:

I know this is an old thread, but I would love some guidance on using the H6 with MS mic and Garage Band.

Which of the two plugins do I use?

How do I install into Garage Band?

And how do I import from the H6 SD card into Garage Band so that it recognises the files correctly?

If it's already installed in its proper place (which it is) and you can't find it in the FCPX Audio browser, then it's not compatible with FCPX. If it is compatible with FCPX, I would expect to find it in a Zoom MS category, so check the very bottom of the Audio filter list. You can always select Audio > All and search for Zoom.

PS - there is a 64 bit Mac AU download. That's the one you need to have installed (for Logic and FCPX.)

You might want to try the Logic "Direction Mixer" which appears in FCP X under "Specialised" [Audio Effects]. That looks as if it is supposed to decode M/S, though I haven't tried it.
