OS 10.8.2 Suddenly Prompts Setup Assistant on Reboot

I've had my iMac on for a few days (or in sleep mode), but decided to shut down last night before bed.

When I booted up, it is suddenly prompting me with the setup assistant. I rebooted into safe boot, and tried to repair the Macintosh HD disk. No problems found.

I rebooted and it's still asking for the same... so I dicided to go up to the user creation wizard. It says it cannot create the specified user account that it prefilled (obviously referencing what is already there).

It seems to me the data is intact... is there a way to get around the setup assistant?

Some configuration notes

I have 2 Admin accounts on OS X side, and have a Bootcamp partition that I rarely (if ever) use.

Any help or suggestions would be really helpful right now!
