Syncing videos to iPod problem

Basically I'm having issues syncing videos to my iPod.The videos transfer to my iTunes library normally and also play on iTunes but when I check the boxes and click sync they don't transfer to my iPod. I think I have isolated the problem though the videos that don't sync (some of them do and are in the same format)have larger video dimensions.Firstly can video size dimensions wise restrict transfer? and how can I resolve this?is there a quick way to shrink the dimensions and solve this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i need to sort this problem out ASAP.

What is the source of the videos? Yes, dimension.format details of the videos do matter. The acceptable format also depends on the model iPod, The 4G and later can play HD version while the previous one can play only SD

You may need a third-party program like HandBrake to convert the format

The videos are in mpeg4 format.I have an iPod 2nd gen.Im pretty sure now with the links you provided that dimension is the issue since all the videos that wont sync have higher dimensions than my ipod can handle.What can I use to modify dimension? I thought it would be pretty simple.

Use the free HandBrake program I referred to in my previous reply. Just Google for it. It has presets for iPod/iPhone

Cheers for the help boss.But the conversion rate is painfully slow,is there anything I can do to speed it up? Because I have quite a few videos to convert :S.

Why computer do you have? How long is painfully slow and how long is the video?

Video conversion does tax the CPU.

It says 7 hours time remaining,that's till all my videos are converted.Its taking about 2 seconds to convert 1 second of video.Is that slow, fast,standard, or what

Problem solved the videos can now be synced to my iPod.......only issue now is that the audio has disappeared :(.Any help?

Sounds like you may have missed a settings in HandBrake. Try going to HandBreak's Help/support site.

In my haste I downloaded the wrong software.I've got the correct one now but it's telling me its going to take 1hour 30 minutes to convert a 10 minute video.
