Q: Linking to an external video file

So the main video being hd is too large to be imported as an asset into the ite file. How do i link to the external file which is what the movies you buy on itunes do and what do i need to do so that in itunes it then only shows one file in the movie view instead of the ite and the video file (again the purchase files do this)? Also when i tried to make a smaller file the main video just to test it if its part of the asset list the play button in itunes doesn't work to just start the main feature, only when i click play itunes extra and go through the menu of the extra i can get the main video to play.

This will probably earn me noob of the year but i haven't found it in the documentation and most of the pro files are generated with iadproducer 3.3 or earlier which makes it difficult to reverse engineer with iadproducer 4.

Thx for any hints.

Since I don't sit in your chair, to me, you are starting at the end without giving me a map to get to where you are. Would you kindly start at the beginning?

In your explanation, would you kindly explain what "pro files" you are referring to, as well as why your video is "too large to be imported"? (I've imported multi-gigabyte video files without issue.)

While waiting more information, I'll take a wild swing in the dark: have you opened Window > Asset Manager for your project and set the Film XID to match the "main video"?

Yes, I have entered the XID. No joy. And iAd Producer gives me a warning when importing files over 2GB. Aside from that iAd Producer 4 doesn't let me log into my iTunes account claiming the account info is wrong (it's not). What I mean by Pro files is when you buy a movie from iTunes the file is outside of the iTunes Extra as a separate file. Once the iTunes Extra and the Movie file are downloaded though they appear as one file in your library and you can click the play button and it takes you straight to the main movie. I am trying to replicate that behavior.
