Nomenclature of Adjusted Images vs Master

Today I am playing around with my NIK plug-ins for the first time. I knew beforehand when I hit the 'Save' button on the lower right hand side of the screen, the adjusted images is saved as a Tiff file. That much is clear.

However, when I journey back and have the MetaData List view up on the screen, the Raw File and Tiff File are right there to see, highlighted. And a column for File Name clearly identifies them each. File size is another clear demarkation. So, here is my question: A column labeled 'Nikon' refers to both files as simply 'Nikon'.

Is that only to identify what camera was used in the capture?

Aperture 3, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), running an iMac
