Q: Moving iTunes from Windows Vista to Windows 8

I just purchased a new PC and I need to move the music from iTunes Vista PC to the Windows 8 PC. We have a lot of music that we have uploaded to iTunes from CD's and the home share option doesnt include these. I have tried coping to an external drive on the new PC but iTunes does not see the new songs and they are located in the iTunes directory. Did I miss coping a DLL needed on the old computer?

One important step is that you want to copy the entire iTunes folder, not just the iTunes Media Folder. This will copy over the iTunes library files, which are essential in retaining your library and playlists. Read more about the iTunes library files here:
