Registered Ram

I read an article that registered ram cannot be used unless the PCB is setup for it.

Is this the same for Macs?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion

Yes. Use only the RAM recommended for your model. Purchase only from a reputable vendor with a liberal return policy. Buy product that carries a Lifetime Manufacturer's Warranty.

no registered Ram for your macbook.......registered is for high speed transfers of data mostly in use in servers and server farms.

Go to crucial.com to lookup the make and model RAM suggested for your specific model of macbook pro for upgrade.
