Two important apps purchased approx. two years ago didn't download from the App Store. I've tried searching the site for them but to no avail. Where could they be?

Hello. When I upgraded from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 two apps, one on Ancient Greek and Roman writers, and another on British Poetry of five hundred years (?) disappeared. They both were a hard search to find. Now all I get are children, Chinese, or those who think classical literature only goes back two hundred years. I did find an audiobook app "Great Poets of the Romantic Period" by Naxos Audiobook. Any suggestions what happened to my apps? Everything else to six years ago is on my App Store .

They may no longer be available.

Apps, or any content for that matter, may not be available forever.

This is why it is so important to alwasy maintain a backup copy of your content.

Thanks. I assumed, since the App Store saved every other nonessential app (old updates, etc.) that those important two would be there too. They both took half a nights search to find in some obscure part of the App Store. I wonder who chooses or what criteria is used in deleting these apps?

It's usually the developer that removes their own app(s), though Apple may occasionally do so (e.g. I assume if a developer stops supporting an app then Apple may remove it) - and similarly a record company may remove their songs, or a film studio their films etc.
