I assume this is a computer you have for school? They don't want you running Xtorrent on your school (or work) computer. So no, we're not going to help you get around policy.

Note if you *do* get around the policy, whoever owns the machine will know you did it. Is that going to be a problem for you?

You'll need to remove whatever management software is on the machine. I don't know what software that might be, but you'll need to uninstall it.

Probably the easiest/cleanest approach would be to boot to the recovery partition and completely clean off the machine with a fresh install. Otherwise, assuming you have an admin account, you may be able to figure out how to remove the management software but having instructions from your former employer's IT department would make it a lot easier.

Ask the people you got it from to take that software off.

Have you tried any other Torrent clients? Also, have you logged in as the Administrator and looked around for any kind of use management software?

So you are able to login as the Administrator? It seems like you should be able to disable or edit any usage restriction software from there.

Hmm. At this point I suggest you try investingating the two software programs possibly behind this, JAMF or LANDesk, as indicated by the IT guy's advice.
