Which browser are you using?
For Safari or Firefox, go to Preferences > General and choose the folder you want.
Thanks. Im using Safari but I don't want it all to go into a particular folder. I want to choose each time. Im new to Apple and on my Windows machine it always asked where I wanted the download to go to.
An applescript may be able to do this. You may want to post your question the Mac OS X Technologies forum.
Thanks will try. Might consider going back to Windows computer...
You can't do this in Safari, though you can right-click on a link and the contextual menu will allow you to select where you wish to download the file. If you want your web browser to always ask where to download the file, use Firefox and make the setting in the General/Downloa dpreferences.
Regards.
Thanks. Am using Firefox now. Works perfect. Silly safari!
