I am having trouble downloading Itunes on my Imac I have a older version

Well, you haven't told us what version you have of anything ... iPhone, Mac, iTunes, OS X.

So it will be hard to answer your question.

In general, newer iPhones require newer iTunes. Newer iTunes require newer OS X versions. Newer OS X versions require newer Mac hardware.
