My Macbook Pro 13" 2012 has a 60W Magsafe Charger which has been cut. If I go and buy any 60W Magsafe Charger from a website like Amazon will it work on my Macbook Pro 2012 and could it damage the Macbook? It should work OK.
Third party chargers are highly suspect. I strongly urge you to get one from Apple. There have been too many tales of woe from users purchasing 'bargain' chargers to find that they fail prematurely. A Apple charger will have a warranty.

I would recommend to purchase theApple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter.
Please do yourself a healthy favor and buy the original MagSafe adapter. Don't risk electrocution.
If you do not have the $$$ then ask a friend (electronics guy) to solder together (and isolate all wires) the cut cable. Still safer then a cheap 3rd party adapter...
