My iPhone 5 has stopped working

Can anyone help. My iPhone 5 has stopped working. Won't switch on. Nothing works!!

iPhone 5, iOS 5.1.1

press and hold down the sleep/wake button and home button for 18-20 seconds till you see the apple logo.
