Set up the Express to "create a wireless network" and then ignore the notices about not having an Internet connection or Ethernet cable connected to the Express.

Start over with a Factory Default Reset of the Express and try the setup again. It might help to change the name of the wireless network and password during the setup.

I now have a connection from my Ipod to my Airport Express and I have connected my Airport Express to my receiver via a 3.5mm to RCA connector cable there is no music playing through the receiver. I reset the Ipod Touch to factory default settings. Now what can I do?

Make sure that you have music selected to play.

Temporarily, connect a pair of stereo headphones directly to the AirPort Express to see if you have can hear anything. I assume that you have the volume control turned up in iTunes.

If you hear music through the headphones, you know the Express is workng correctly...and the issue is in your connection cable to the AV receiver, or you have an issue with the receiver itself on the input that you have selected.

If you do not hear music with the headphones connected to the Express, check everything over again. If things still do not work, take the Express to an Apple Store to let them have a look and check the Express over.
