my ipod is being wierd

my ipod wont turn on alot of the time if the battery dies completly. i plug it in and all it does is show the apple logo like its gonna start but then it just goes back to black and it just flashes like that and i can't get it to charge now. what should i do

If the battery is running low, you can do it while it is connected to your computer for power. If it is able to start up this way, run iTunes. iTunes may then recognize it, say something about "recovery," and prompt you to do a Restore. A Restore will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings. If the cause is data corruption in the iPod's storage, a Restore should fix it.

If you see the Apple logo on the screen, it is starting up. It is just not completing the startup process. That could be due to corruption in the iPod's storage, or it could be a physical hardware problem.


The Disk Mode procedure calls for pressing buttons when you see the Apple logo appear on the screen. The buttons to press depends on the iPod nano model you have. What happens when you follow the procedure?
