Q: iPad airplay issue. Icon does appear.

While trying to use an iPad 2 with a gen 3 Apple TV, I cannot get it to mirror. The icon shows up on the iPad to connect, but when selected, nothing happens on the Apple TV. Also of interest, when an iPhone 4s is used in the same manner, it does mirror. Any solutions?
