Sep 3, 2013 6:39 PM in response to BobTheFishermanby BodomTheVixen,I know it says they are supported but I can tell you that is BS.
There are serveral threads on here with people having this issue. It seems that there is no native driver for USB 3.0 in the windows 7 installer, and that makes the mouse, keyboard and trackpad unresponsive.I should also add, that I have installed Windows 8 without this issue and without any issue at all actaully.

Sep 4, 2013 5:45 AM in response to BodomTheVixenby The hatter,★Helpfulright, as you will read... even with PC, Windows 7 SP1 is trouble, and you can't use USB3, when the USB drivers are being installed you loss connection. In such cases use a hard disk not on USB.
It is supported but nothing has ever been 'perfect' and without having to do things extra.
Boot Camp FAQ

Is USB3 supported in Boot Camp 5?
Yes, see Using USB 3 devices on Mac computers FAQ.
I think Windows 8.1 is going to be a big improvement and easier and better support, and it is now easy to ignore or disable using Metro (though MS wants to push the "use email login with Outlook" approach)

Sep 4, 2013 8:03 AM in response to The hatterby BodomTheVixen,I ended up going with Windows 8.1, I know bootcamp supports USB 3.0, but its good old Windows 7 that doesnt, untill it is installed, then you can install the USB 3.0 drivers. But with the Macbook Air only having USB 3.0 ports, it kinda leaves you stuck.
How do you go about disabling the Metro UI? I hate it lol

Sep 4, 2013 8:19 AM in response to BodomTheVixenby The hatter,I wonder if there is a USB2 to USB3 adapter? but the problem is you have to run the drivers update like Boot Camp 5 off the hard drive, and that is easy and how I do it, copy or download in Windows and to Windows folder is all so the USB device is not ejected or unmounted.
I have dual Windows 8.0 and 8.1 for now and prefer it over Windows 7 as much as I preferred 7 over Vista.
8.1 makes it easy, wait for its release 10.17
turn off / disable / set to boot to desktop - and don't sweat if you do open or get into a Metro screen which feels like being lost. As for having to have an MS Live.com or Outlook email and use that for logins.... THAT bothers me more than Metro.
