How do I connect LED Cinema to Thunderbolt Display

I have a PC with a ASUS Z87 DELUXE Motherboard. It has an Apple Thunderbolt Display connected to the thunderbolt port. THe monitor is working fine. I also have an old Apple Cinema Display that came with my friends MacPro. He only need one monitor so he gave me his second one. I was wondering if I could maybe daisy-chain the monitor and connect it with the minidisplay port, the usb port, or using any adapter. I don't mind buying anything as long as it's under $2000.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131987

A Mini DisplayPort device won't work plugged directly into a Thunderbolt display.

Also can you use plug a thunderbolt hub into the thunderbolt display thunderpolt port and then plug the minidisplay port from the cinema display into the thunderbolt hub?

If by "Thunderbolt hub" you mean a disk drive with two Thunderbolt ports, yes, or you could plug the Mini DisplayPort display into the computer's second Thunderbolt port.

The above information apply to a Macintosh computer running OSX. There's no reason it couldn't work on a Windows machine (with Thunderbolt ports) IF the appropriate drivers exist.

Hi, Sheppkvn,

I'm user using Z87-expert, and looking for attach a apple thunderbolt display onto it. However, there is no information on internet about this setup workable or not, until find this post.

May I ask you some questions about your motherboard, is your motherboard ASUS z87-deluxe or z87-deluxe/dual. From ASUS website, z87-deluxe is no thunderbolt port, only mini-displayport and displayport (large one). z87-deluxe/dual comes with two thunderbolt ports. Which board you using?

you mentioned, you connect your Thunderbolt display to the motherboard, and convertor or dongle used for the connectons?

Thanks for your help

Alex
