My Mac wont show me desktop.

When i turn my Mac on it Tells me that my disk is full. And it wont show me my desktop only and image, i already tried deleting some stuff but it wont even show me the trash. I already restart it and shut it off and left it to rest, what should i do?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You can delete files in Safe Mode ...


Startup your Mac in Safe Mode


A Safe Mode boot takes longer than a normal boot so be patient.


Once you are in Safe Mode, control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop then click Get Info. You'll see Capacity & Available.


Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.


While you are in Safe Mode you can delete files, (not system files), then click Restart from the Apple () menu.
