Q: Repeated kernel panic on iMac

Before I went on my summer holiday I added OWC memory to my iMac, as I understood from the way it was performing that it required an upgrade.

I returned to my desk today and have had 7 shutdown requests from my computer, the last of which is recorded below. I'm fairly computer savvy but am struggling to deal with this issue having spent the last 36 hours on three planes. HELP! Please...

Can you explain what I should be looking for if I receive these kernel messages? You've picked out pretty quickly that it may be a ContentWatch issue; what does the 402 code tell you?

402 is  a version number. Test without netnanny, or in Safe mode; and if panics continue, try with the old memory.

Thank you. Watch this space - if you have nothing better to do.

If you look under 'last loaded', you will see the non-apple kexts related to the third party software here. Last loaded third party kexts + the only third party kexts is almost always an indication that the software using these drivers is causing the kernel panic. You can boot into Safe Mode and see if the crash persists, as already mentioned, since third party drivers are not loaded. I prefer uninstallation as the test, given that other apple drivers are not loaded as well in Safe Mode.

Thank you. NetNanny/ContentWatch uninstalled and everything is stable so far. Keeping my fingers firmly crossed, and learning fast!
