Select from the in to the out point

Hi,

On my time line i chose an in point, and then an out point to select a part of the film.

I want to copy that little part of the film on another time line (another sequence).

During a while, that worked fine doing then "copy", "paste", but now it's blocked, and i don't understand why (did i change the way i was doing it? i don't think so...)

It seems like it doesn't select anything at all when i do "copy".

If i try to do "select in to out" (OPTION A), a message says it can't be done because that would "divide some transitions".

Do you know what i should do to be able to copy and paste that selection?

if the in or out point occur during a dissolve or fade or any other transition effect, fcp says no. You must either remove the transitioin, or adjust the in or out point.

Also, make sure that the autoselect buttons in the patch panel on the left side of the timeline are turned on for which ever tracks you want to incloude.
