I just updated my computer and when I tried to drag and drop a picture to save in iPhoto I can't. I am at a loss when it comes to computers and how to work them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what your question is - iPhoto always saves your photos - you do not need to do anything
To import photos to iPhoto drag them to the open iPhoot window or use the File menu ==> import command
For getting photos out of iPhoto the alternative to drag and drop (a much superior alternative) is to select the photo(s) in iPhoto and export (fie menu ==> export) using the options as described in the user tip on exporting

OK so I would drag a photo to my iphoto icon and it would import that photo and save it. It doesn't do that now. And I didn't know why or how else to import that photo.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

I have the exact same problem. I can't make it work. I tried the "alt" thing and that didn't work either.
When i hold down the "alt" key and open iphoto, iphoto opens. there is no option to create a new library.
yes there is - keep the option key held down until the select library window appears - create new library is on tha twindow

Ok, I got it to ask me to create a new library, which i did do. I then tried to drag and drop a photo from the interwebs and nothing happened. No drag and drop for me. 😟
I upgraded to iPhoto 11 and now I can't drag and drop photos to save them. How do I save photos now?
