i have an old iphone(3g) and it's time to change it. do you think apple will support iphone 4 a few years? (at least 1 year)
Nobody in this user forum will know. But since iPhone 4 will be able to update to IOS7, the chances are good.

Sep 4, 2013 7:29 AM in response to sezginnby Lawrence Finch,★HelpfulIt's possible that iOS 8 won't run on an iPhone 4, and even iOS 7 will not support all features on the 4. Since you don't seem to want a 5 or whatever comes after the 5 you might want to wait until the Next New One comes out, then get a 4S or 5, both of which will likely be discounted.

you can put in your serial number and see what kind of coverage it has.
As far as the life of a product it's supported for 5 years until it becomes vintage (iphones can still be serviced) and 7 years when it becomes obsolete.

Personally I think if you take care of it 3 years is a nice time to start considering a new one, they just started a recycling program in the store you can usually trade an old one in and get something for it.
