The Spotlight is not finding things on my iMac I know exist.
How do I re-index my iMac, please? (2013 machine)

Make sure you don't have any folder in System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy. All of them won't be indexed

I tried that; but, I don't see any progress bar of the HD being indexed; please advise further.

Note that the index may take hours. Press the Spotlight icon at the top right corner of the display or press Command and Space keys. You will see a message telling you that the hard drive is being indexed. Wait until it finishes
