Network services don't work

I have a new Mac Mini bought yesterday at the Apple Store. Problem is, I can't connect using AFP or VNC. These services are running on the Mac but do not work either as Bonjour or the IP address. All other computers work normally on the network. Does anyone know what's wrong?

I'll be doggoned, I plugged it in with an ethernet cable and suddenly it worked. No idea why.

Turns out the router I was connected to had "Wireless Isolation" enabled, meaning WiFi connections were only allowed access to www.
